EV Fleet Maintenance Checklist for Dry-Lease Operators
On a dry lease, servicing is in your hands. The good news is that electric scooters need far less of it than petrol bikes: no engine oil, no clutch, no spark plugs, no air filter. A simple routine keeps downtime low. Here is a checklist you can hand to your mechanic and team leads.
Daily (rider, 2 minutes before shift)
- Tyre pressure looks right and there are no visible cuts
- Front and rear brakes bite properly
- Headlight, tail light, indicators and horn work
- Battery is seated and locked in the bay
- No warning icons on the display
Weekly (team lead or mechanic)
- Tyre pressure with a gauge, plus tread check
- Brake pad wear
- Battery bay connectors clean and dry, with no corrosion or loose terminals
- Mirrors, stand and delivery box mounts tight
- Note any rider complaints about pulling, noises or reduced pickup
Monthly (mechanic)
- Brake adjustment or pad replacement as needed
- Suspension check, especially for scooters on rough sector roads
- Wheel bearing play and wheel alignment
- Wiring harness check for chafing near the steering and battery bay
- Body panels and locks
Monsoon extras
Delhi NCR's waterlogging is the biggest seasonal risk. Brief riders not to ride through deep water. After heavy rain days, check the battery bay and connectors for moisture. See our monsoon playbook.
What you don't maintain
With swappable scooters, batteries belong to the swap network. Battery health, charging and replacement are their job. Report any faulty pack at the station.
Keep a log
A shared sheet with scooter ID, date, issue and fix is enough. Patterns tell you which riders need coaching and which routes are hard on vehicles.
