Lease-to-own

Pay monthly. Own the scooter.

Lilypad's lease-to-own plans let delivery fleets and rider fleet operators pay monthly for a low-speed, swappable electric scooter and own it at the end of the term. Batteries come from a Battery Smart or Mooving swap subscription, so there is no battery cost in the plan.

How lease-to-own works

A clear path to ownership

Fixed monthly payments

Pay a fixed amount every month for the length of the term. We quote the tenure and amount for your volumes.

Ownership at the end

Once the term is complete, the scooter transfers to you, or to your rider if you run a rider ownership plan.

No battery in the price

The scooter is swap-ready. Riders subscribe to Battery Smart or Mooving packs separately.

Riders stay longer

Riders working towards owning their scooter are more likely to stay, which cuts churn and onboarding cost.

No upfront purchase

Put riders on scooters without buying vehicles outright.

You control servicing

Like our rentals, lease-to-own is a dry lease. Servicing is handled by you or your service partner.

FAQ

Lease-to-own questions

How does electric scooter lease-to-own work?

You pay a fixed monthly amount for an agreed term. At the end of the term, ownership of the scooter transfers to you or your rider. Tenure and monthly amount are quoted based on fleet size.

What is the difference between rental and lease-to-own?

With monthly rental you return the scooter whenever you stop renting. With lease-to-own, every payment goes towards ownership, and the scooter is yours once the term is complete.

Can I offer lease-to-own to my delivery riders?

Yes. Rider fleet operators use lease-to-own to put riders on a path to owning their scooter, which improves rider retention.

What is a dry lease?

A dry lease means you rent the scooter only. The battery, servicing and insurance are not part of the rent. Your riders get batteries through a swap subscription (Battery Smart or Mooving), and you handle servicing yourself or through your own service partner. This keeps the monthly rent much lower than a fully managed rental.

How much does it cost to rent an electric scooter for delivery?

Pricing depends on fleet size, rental term and whether you choose monthly rental or lease-to-own. Share your requirement through the form and we will send a quote for your exact volumes. Remember to add your battery swap subscription to the scooter rent when comparing against petrol.

How do batteries work if they are not included?

The scooters are swap-ready and compatible with the Battery Smart and Mooving networks. You or your riders subscribe to a battery pack directly with the swap network, then swap a drained battery for a charged one at a station in a few minutes. There is no charging downtime and no battery to maintain.

Who handles servicing and repairs?

On a dry lease, servicing is your responsibility. Most fleet operators use their in-house mechanic or a local service partner.

What is the minimum number of scooters?

You can start with a pilot batch and scale from there. Tell us the size you have in mind and we will confirm availability.

Where do I collect the scooters?

Scooters are handed over road-ready from our hub in Noida. For cities outside Delhi NCR, ask us about dispatch to your location.
